About Daniel Harshman
Daniel Harshman is a dedicated professional and coach, currently working full-time at the Natick Soldier Systems Center in Natick, MA. In his role as an Equipment Specialist, he leads teams of Department of Defense (DoD) researchers, scientists, and engineers into challenging real-world field conditions with military users to test and evaluate emerging technologies in nutritional research, environmental protection, and individual survival equipment.
Dan's extensive coaching experience spans all levels of youth and high school wrestling. He has successfully coached multiple youth state and New England champions and place winners. Currently, he coaches the Ashland middle and youth wrestling programs and has previously coached at War Dogs Wrestling Club, Holliston middle/youth, and Framingham High School.
A U.S. Army veteran, Dan's service includes unique assignments such as being part of the Modern Army Combative fielding team, a Weapons Instructor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and a team member/medic with the 173rd Long Range Surveillance Detachment, RIANG. Before his military career, Dan was a member of the 1995/96 Maryland National Freestyle & Greco-Roman wrestling team and earned AAU All American honors in 1996.
Dan's academic achievements include a B.S. in Management and an A.S. in Marketing from Ashworth College, along with certifications as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and a Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Additionally, he has completed various specialized training programs, including the U.S. Army Combat Medic School.
In his part-time role, Dan works as a fitness instructor at the Longfellow Sports Club in Natick, where he utilizes his expertise as a certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist. At home, Dan enjoys weight training and general fitness, alongside his passion for wrestling and coaching.
